Oracle hat gestern den VirtualBox in der Version 4.1.6 zum kostenlosen Download freigegeben. Mit VirtualBox hat man eine Möglichkeit zahlreiche Betriebssysteme wie Windows 98, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 und Windows Vista und Windows 7, ebenso wie OS/2 Warp, sowie Linux-Distributionen und auch OpenBSD auf einem einzigen PC ohne Risiko virtuell zu betreiben. Mit nur einem einzigen Mausklick wechseln Sie künftig zwischen den Betriebssystemen.

Die Virtualisierungslösung Oracle VM VirtualBox bringt Vorteile und unerreichte Flexibilität beim IT-Administrieren und stellt eine ideale Alternative zu Microsofts Virtual PC und zur teuren VMWare Workstation dar. Neben der Unterstützung für Disketten, Audio, CD/DVD-ROM sowie USB bietet das Programm auch Unterstützung der Netzwerkfähigkeiten des Hostsystems für das Gastsystem.
