Microsoft hat heute ein Update veröffentlicht, welches eine Sicherheitslücke schließt, die sich in Verknüpfungsdateien (LNK) befindet. Das Update trägt die Bezeichnung KB2286198 und kann kostenlos bei Microsoft heruntergeladen werden. Betroffen sind die Windows-Versionen 7, Vista, XP, Server 2003, Server 2008 und die Embedded-Versionen.

Solche außerplanmäßigen Sicherheitsaktualisierungen werden von Microsoft nur aus wichtigen Gründen veröffentlicht und sollten daher umgehend installiert werden. Microsoft liefert das Update über die in Windows integrierte Updatefunktion aus oder über einen direkten (siehe unten) Downloadlink. Der nächste planmäßige Patch-Day findet am 10. August statt.
