Microsoft hat ein optionales Update für Windows Vista 1 zum Download freigegeben, das Probleme im Windows Servicing Store beheben soll, durch welche die erfolgreiche Installation zukünftiger Updates, Service Packs und Software unter Windows Vista möglicherweise verhindert wird. Für den manuellen Download ist eine WGA-Prüfung erforderlich und dieses Update kann nach der Installation nicht mehr entfernt werden.
